The history of Scotland County is celebrated at the Rural Heritage Center which focuses on farm life and it’s agricultural history. Scotland County is home to Laurinburg-Maxton Airport which is also home to the US Army Golden Knights Parachute team, St. Andrews University and the Lumber River State Park, Chalk Banks access area. Several events highlight the community each year, John Blue Cotton Festival, Highland Games, Storytelling Festival and Kuumba.
